RE: Market Breadth Extra

Interesting Read. Mark Cook's "Prepare Now and Survive the Coming Bear Market, This time is not different". Mark Cook is one of the Market Wizards that was included in Jack Schwager's book - so he is not a lightweight. Mark Cook made his first million in 1987 because he saw the 1987 crash coming.

His book has a great analysis of the 10 steps of a bear market. Mark also covers his preferred indicator the 'Cook Cumultive Tick', a version a $TICK.

Quote from the end of Mark Cook's book, "Unfortunately, only a small minority of people will be prepared to withstand the typhoon of asset destruction. Even fewer will actually prosper. The bubble of 2015 will be a historical Armageddon. History will view 2015 and beyond as an era of excesses that were unsustainable. When the bubble bursts, a Pandora's box of horror will be released. I say this not to create a panic, but to save financial lives."

Because this is a Weinstein board. I will add one of Weinstein's indicators is the first month of the year - January. January was a rough month.

Any thoughts, anyone?

RE: Market Breadth Extra

150 day ma's for DOW & NASDAQ still pointing up. Biotech sector, BTK, incredibly strong, but perhaps due for a pullback.
There is always someone calling for a crash, so inevitably when it comes they will be hailed as a fortune teller.
I'm sticking with technicals.
However Dow is close to its 150 day ma, and if it slides below it, I might add blue chip shorts trading below down-sloping 150 day ma's such as F, GM and MCD in USA and in the UK, I think TCG has a high risk of bankruptcy.

Major US Stock Indexes Update

Attached is the updated US equity index charts.

Note: The Percentage of stocks above their 150 day MA's is in a dangerous position with the indexes floating around their 150 day MA's. Suggesting some caution imo.
