I get the impression with gold that the long term trend is definitely upward, but there there is a large danger in getting caught in a pullback or long sideways period.

I get the impression with gold that the long term trend is definitely upward, but there there is a large danger in getting caught in a pullback or long sideways period.

I know that appears to be stating the obvious, but really what I am meaning is that we want to buy when it is definitely moving upwards.  We don't want to buy and wait for something to happen, or worse watch it drop back.  Especially if we sell only for it to rise up.
