US Industry Groups by Highest RS Score

Gold & Silver miners have moved back to the top of the Industry Groups Relative Strength (RS) Rankings with a strong finish to the week, which caused multiple stocks in the groups to move to new highs, but also of note is the new Stage 2 breakout attempt in AG (First Majestic Silver). Which has been a laggard amongst the Silver stocks all year, but moved back into the Stage Analysis Technical Attributes (SATA) strong range 4 weeks ago, when it moved from a neutral SATA 5 to a strong SATA 7 of 10 in Stage 1, after recovering from a SATA 0 back in August.

So 100% of the Silver miners are now what we consider to be technically healthy (i.e. with scores of SATA 6 or higher), and 92% of the Gold stocks are too. Hence, it remains one of the strongest areas in the market currently.

Below is the Silver sub-industry chart and breadth charts, plus the SATA rankings of the Precious Metals stocks, and a few of the silver stocks on the move – GATO, SILV, AG

US Industry Groups by Weakest RS Score

US Industry Groups sorted by Relative Strength

The purpose of the Relative Strength (RS) tables is to track the short, medium and long-term RS changes of the individual groups to find the new leadership earlier than the crowd.

RS Score of 100 is the strongest, and 0 is the weakest.

In the Stage Analysis method we are looking to focus on the strongest groups, as what is strong, tends to stay strong for a long time. But we also want to find the improving / up and coming groups that are starting to rise up strongly through the RS table from the lower zone, in order to find the future leading stocks before they break out from a Stage 1 base and move into a Stage 2 advancing phase.

Each week I go through the most interesting groups on the move in more detail during the Stage Analysis Members weekend videoas Industry Group analysis is a key part of Stan Weinstein's Stage Analysis method.
