US Industry Groups by Highest RS Score
Semiconductors ($DJUSSC) held onto the top spot of the Industry Groups Relative Strength Rankings for another week, as it gapped up on Tuesday and then consolidated around its all time highs at the top of the range, and thus has potential for a Stage 2 continuation breakout attempt.
The Home Construction ($DJUSHB) group also made an all-time high on Tuesday, but pulled back into the Stage 3 range and consolidated for the rest of the week. So also has potential for Stage 2 continuation breakout attempt.
US Industry Groups by Weakest RS Score
Renewable Energy Equipment ($DWCREE) rebounded strongly this week, with a weekly engulfing candle, and closed just above its 50 day MA. So a potential move into Stage 4B- for the group, and with the move, it managed to get off of the bottom the RS rankings by five positons, and so Aluminium ($DJUSAL) has moved into bottom position in its place. Although, it also recovered back towards its own 50 day MA in Stage 4, and so could also potentially move into Stage 4B- in the coming week if it follows through.
US Industry Groups sorted by Relative Strength
The purpose of the Relative Strength (RS) tables is to track the short, medium and long-term RS changes of the individual groups to find the new leadership earlier than the crowd.
RS Score of 100 is the strongest, and 0 is the weakest.
In the Stage Analysis method we are looking to focus on the strongest groups, as what is strong, tends to stay strong for a long time. But we also want to find the improving / up and coming groups that are starting to rise up strongly through the RS table from the lower zone, in order to find the future leading stocks before they break out from a Stage 1 base and move into a Stage 2 advancing phase.
Each week I go through the most interesting groups on the move in more detail during the Stage Analysis Members weekend video – as Industry Group analysis is a key part of Stan Weinstein's Stage Analysis method.
