RE: Watchlist - Investor method
Merry Christmas, All, as it is still Xmas here in the States for another couple hours. I hope everyone had a good holiday or enjoyed some Chinese food or had fun with whatever they do when the markets are closed on Dec. 25.
Here are a couple of investors setups I have been watching recently...
The first two are Stage 1 setups for the watchlist. Both are energy plays which is supposed to be a top performing sector for 2014: BTU and WTL. BTU was at $70 two years ago and is now trading around $18. I would like to see the 30 wma start turning up and a move into the $20 range with good volume as a potential Stage 2A move. Similar with WLT… trading at $130 two years ago and is down 90% to trade currently at $15. Looks like it may finally have found a bottom in the $10 range. Again, 30 wma turning upwards with good volume and move into the $20 range would be good signal for a move into Stage 2A.
The last setup is MY which has been highlighted previously as a Stage 2A in the Solar sub-group which has performed quite well recently. I was recently in MY back in October and I think it is almost done with its current pullback and is ready to make another large move. It’s currently @ $2.04 and I believe it’s about oversold. There could be some more slight downward movement to the $1.80 - $1.90 range but I think there is a nice trendline that is providing support. The previous Stage 1 resistance line now also appears to be providing a nice little support wedge. If I can get the right price in the next couple days or early next week, I will likely make an entry with a stop around 3 times the 200 day ATR, which would be in the $1.50 - $1.60 range.
Cheers.
