S&P 500 Futures looking like it will have a strong open to the downside. So as per last week and the weekend video in the market breadth update. The market has the ball, so suggests playing defense currently.
I will be watching for areas of relative strength.
61 results on the Undercut & rally / spring type action scan so far today. This can be a useful guide when the market is at a near term low in a base. So will be watching to see if this strengthens or weakens throughout the day. Average day is around 30 results. +100 is rarer.
I took a smaller 1/3 position in $FORG at 42.14 from the watchlist using a limit order in the opening 5 mins. So if it holds up today and the market strengthens then I'll look to take it up by another 1/3 position.
$AFRM from the watchlist holding at the +1x ATR level and within the most recent significant bar range still
A few watchlist stocks red to green - $DASH $LCID
Will be watching to see if they can hold positive into the close
$ASAN holding support from the last significant volume bar (16th Sept) so far
$OPEN still working on its primary Stage 1 base since the IPO in the Institutional Due Diligence Phase (I-DDP) and approaching the +1x ATR level in potential Phase D of the base.
Watching for a Stage 2A breakout attempt on strong relative volume
$ZIP showing some strong RS today rebounding at the 50 day MA and attempting to regain the +1x ATR level
End of day rally attempt. Let's see if it sticks.

The Undercut & Rally / Spring type action scan produced 105 results in the end of day scan. So an outsized day for this kind of pattern

Tuesday 21st September 2021 - isatrader - 2021-09-21
$SHOP was one of yesterdays more prominent stocks that had spring type action yesterday, and potentially now in Phase C of its three month base.
$LCID highlighted in the weekend scans & yesterday as an RS standout, continuing to outperform in the near term in Phase D of its base with potential sign of strength rally underway. If it is then the expectation would be for it to overcome the top of the base and then hold above
$ABNB from the watchlist with a good rebound today above yesterday high and +1x ATR level
$COOP from the watchlist reacting well to yesterdays dip below its 21 day EMA, with RS making a new high ahead of the price action
$AMD attempting to spring
$SNAP reacting well to yesterdays dip below the 50 day MA and approaching trendline resistance once more
$HOOD intraday Stage 1 base forming on the 1 hour chart. So really early. But showing signs a higher low LPS and follow through. Potential for Stage 2A breakout attempt on this timeframe.
Reviewing yesterdays spring type action scan results.
Of the 105 results:
3 are below yesterdays low
103 are above yesterdays low
36 are below yesterdays close
69 are above yesterdays close
67 are below yesterdays high
38 are above yesterdays high
So the majority have held up so far and 36% are above yesterdays high while only 3% are below yesterdays low.
Will review again later after the close
$HOOD still interesting me as we approach the end of the day with the S&P 500 holding up on the test so far.
$APP with a good reaction bounce today around the IPO day high level the the 21 day EMA. Looks interesting
$APPS also showing some RS and consolidating on the downtrend line and just under the 200 day MA. Watching for a follow through attempt.
$TSLA rebounding around the 21 day EMA today in the backup range following the sign of strength in late August. Stage 2 potential
$CAL one of the stronger looking springs from yesterday as we approach the end of day. Volume very light though
$TDOC - Stage 1? - isatrader - 2021-09-21
$TDOC potentially developing a Stage 1 base since the May Selling Climax as the supply has significantly dried up and some subtle signs of accumulation beginning to form. Potentially in Phase C of base structure, so watching for a sign of strength to develop.
