RE: Market Breadth - isatrader - 2013-08-18

To go into even more depth on the individual sectors, attached is a number of different measures based around the advance decline data for each major sector that I haven't shown before.

I've used the same setup as on the NYSE Advance Decline alternate measures chart that I show, but I've also included the bullish percents for each sector at the bottom of each chart. Below is the charts:

XLB, XLE and XLF

XLI, XLK and XLP

XLU, XLV and XLY

Weinstein Analysis - 'Real Time' on FTSE 350 stocks - isatrader - 2013-08-19

The following article is by our sponsor Alan Saunders from Sharehunter.com who provides a daily stock alerts service via email based on Weinstein’s trader method for the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100 and the FTSE 350 stocks.

Quote:[Image: attachment.php?aid=2471]

Having worked with Weinstein’s analysis for 10 years now I can attest to its effectiveness and to the credibility that it gives to one’s share purchasing methodology.

The real power of Weinstein’s Stage Analysis comes after one has become adept at speedily identifying which of the 4 stages a share is in. Whether one is buying in order to build a SIPP portfolio of shares or simply wanting to buy one or two stocks for the thrill of seeing the price rise never again need you buy only to see the price meander along whilst other stocks rise (usually, just to add salt to the wound, those very stocks which you had previously considered and discarded!). And it would be most unlikely (and very unlucky) for you to ever again buy a stock only to watch as the price then tumbled.

Weinstein’s Stage Analysis is a fantastic aid, elegant in its simplicity and unique in its comprehensive logicality which will build the user’s confidence towards successful share trading and dynamic portfolio management.

My own small company, Sharehunter.com, now produces, in addition to our daily FTSE 350 and S&P 500 ‘stage 2’ trading alerts, a monthly Portfolio Management Guide of FTSE 350 shares which is designed to be of primary help to those who manage a portfolio of shares and who, whilst not wishing to actively trade shares, none-the-less wish to manage their shareholdings to maximise opportunity and to avoid, or at least reduce, the risk of falling prices as much as possible – i.e. Weinstein in action!

The main message conveyed by the Guide’s monthly results is provided by the totals that are given for the number of falling price shares (‘Stages 3 and 4′ shares – although we have expanded Weinstein and based the stage analysis on a total of 12 trends – 3 for each of the 4 Stages). Any month-by-month increase in the totals of the falling price shares would, for example, carry a strong warning of a potential change and that a major downtrend is in the offing. This would be seen to be matched by a reduction in the totals of the rising price shares. It is where a reduction in one is accompanied by an increase in the other that it becomes a serious warning.

Should you like to see a copy then I will send you a complimentary copy of the August Portfolio Management Guide. Just email your request to sharehunterteam@gmail.com

But there is more to being successful at share buying than is given in Weinstein’s writings. To the purist Weinstein disciple that may sound like heresy but experience has proved that tight money management, strict stop-loss procedures and identification of ‘breakout’ shares are all vital ‘add-ons’ to Stage Analysis. These will form the basis for later articles.
