Might be worth buying back SN if it pulls back to the 950 - 1000 region.

VLX now at 80p did not quite manage to fulfil the short criteria in April on the b/dn at 100p.
Ideally this week's hi vol should have been the week before, but the rise of vol on a small up candle to me looks even more bearish, as it means even with director buying, the share did not convert this to a decent up candle. http://tinyurl.com/olt7ens

HWDN looks like a short rallying back to its neckline today

HUR.L. Small caps seem to behave more like the examples in the book. Maybe a little late on this one:

Also long BAE.L:

BRAM.L about to drop?

Interestingly if I look at my screener there are many (potential) shorts at present, either just about to break or are well into a fall, but I can find quite a few things late in stage 1 which may well be about to break out, rising MA30, relative strength. However, I'm using MIDD.L (FTSE250) as my reference for relative strength which is dropping, so perhaps that is not the best circumstance for relative strength.

Does not look like it is pulling back quite that deep. 1044 at the moment and it looks like it is turning back up. OK, so this might be a buying opportunity. However, is the volume good enough? I suppose also it would be a continuation if it broke out a little above 1100p. Is this a good enough chart for it to be worthwhile?

Also I note the situation with Astrazenica which was a recent failed aquisition target. Smith & Nephew is apparently also a target, though there is not the same stir in the press. Apart from a blip, which I assume adds local resistance, whether it did the share price any favours.

agreed, I've bought 300 at 1043 to get some exposure
also, there's usually a bullish bias around the July 4th holiday in America that spills over to world markets, hence might be good to add to longs

For the long watchlist - TMZ.L, PDL.L, OPG.L, GRG.L, CGH.L

And a few for the short watchlist - SKG.L, SPX.L

OK. Gone for it myself:
1. Overall FTSE100 looks late in stage 2 (caution)
2. Sector strong.
3. Volume, large increase to peak, fell away on drop into pullback.
(not as good as the book examples, but I rarely see much as good as book examples on UK large or mid cap stock).
4. Appears to have just turned the corner at the bottom.
5. MA30 rising strongly. (as are MA10 & 200 day averages)
6. Relative strength above the zero line.
7. Cumulative force / Price Volume Trend / On balance volume look sensible.

Lets see how this goes as I have not been good at buying on pullbacks to date, mainly have gone for initial breakouts. However, these seem to be so sharp that even the same day misses most of the increase.
