RE: Watchlist - Investor method - isatrader - 2013-05-09 I've been following Ford's (F) Stage 2 run since the beginning of the year, and last did an update at the secondary entry point back in early March here: http://stageanalysis.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=15&pid=211#pid211 Well it's now making a new continuation move and closed above it's January high over the last two days after consolidating for the last four months. So it continues to be a good evolving example of an average Stage 2 advance, which can have multiple consolidation periods and significant pullbacks towards the 30 week MA. Everything still looks in gear for Ford except for the volume being uninspiring. So it could continue higher from here as it's in good technical shape. RE: Watchlist - Traders method - isatrader - 2013-05-09 As noted by the theblackmamba in the monthly trade thread. Quicksilver (ZQK) has made a strong continuation move the last few days on reasonably good volume. Relative performance versus the S&P 500 is good and the moving averages are rising strongly. RE: Watchlist - Investor method - isatrader - 2013-05-09 A new one for the watchlist today is Vedanta Resources (VED.L), which looks like it had a failed Stage 2A breakout in January, and fell back down into the Stage 1 range. But has now recovered since the beginning of April with a sharp head and shoulders pattern that is close to completing if it can close above the February high of 1311, which would give an initial swing target of 1656. Relative performance versus the S&P 500 is above the zero line and rising and the cumulative volume is beginning to climb. I've attached the technical attributes charts of the monthly and weekly time periods, of which the monthly has just started to recover and now has a score of 3 out of 8, whereas the weekly went to a maximum of 8 out of 8 last week showing that this stock is turning more positive. VED.L is currently in Stage 1B imo and would move to Stage 2A with a breakout and close above the February swing high of 1311. RE: Watchlist - Traders method - goodtyneguy - 2013-05-10 Coffees perking up: RE: Watchlist - Investor method - goodtyneguy - 2013-05-10 Solar and the clean energy space looks interesting: You may also want to look at the clean energy ETF PBW and the best constituents imo inside the two ETF's are as follows: CSIQ, FLSR, and JKS for both investor and trader watch lists. RE: Watchlist - Investor method - isatrader - 2013-05-10 (2013-05-10, 11:27 PM)goodtyneguy Wrote: Solar and the clean energy space looks interesting: I remember Rewardz flagging this back in January on the old thread on t2w here: http://www.trade2win.com/boards/technical-analysis/134944-stan-weinsteins-stage-analysis-97.html#post2050692 I think it's in a much better position now as the Stage 1 base is much more developed, with the moving averages flattening out and turning up and the heavy volume coming into the group. A lot of the individual stocks have already had good Stage 2 runs, but as we saw with the homebuilders sector, when a group gets very strong across the board, it can run for a long time and so there might still be good opportunities in the Solar sector. RE: Watchlist - Investor method - isatrader - 2013-05-13 Real Estate Investment Trusts (^NMX8630) is currently the third strongest sector out of the 38 FTSE 350 sectors, and so there is a lot of stocks making good Stage 2 moves in the sector. One of which is Land Securities Group (LAND.L) which broke out into Stage 2A last July, and is now attempting to close above it's monthly Stage 2 level, which was the 2011 high. It's one of the laggards of the group overall, as in order of strength, WKP.L, BYG.L, GPOR.L, SGRO.L, DLN.L, SHB.L, HMSO.L and BLND.L all have better relative performance. But it's at the monthly entry point, following a massive five year base and so it needs to close the month above the 2011 high to confirm the long term breakout. The sector is a particularly good one for dividends as most stocks pay roughly between 3-5%, and so it has a good mix for a long term investor. Below are the relative performance tables in order of strength and attached are the weekly and daily charts, as well as the monthly and weekly technical attributes charts which show it has a strong score of 7 out 8 on the monthly and a maximum 8 out of 8 on the weekly chart. RE: Watchlist - Investor method - Lplate - 2013-05-14 Healthcare US ETF XLV had a continuation breakout yesterday about $48, now $48.50, in line with the string of individual healthcare stocks isatrader identified on the S&P500 Daily Breakout lists. http://scharts.co/18HmzxL The question is whether to be worried by the distance from the 30 week MA, which has been a bounce line. Weinstein I guess would not be worried, but should we be very patient and wait a few months for a retrace and then buy on the renewed breakout above $48? |
