RE: Stan Weinstein's Stage Analysis - isatrader - 2014-05-10 (2014-05-10, 05:16 PM)Tryst Wrote: Thanks. Stan does allude to those proprietary surveys in his interviews on FS. Does he not show them on his Global Trend Alert releases? He does show them in his monthly GTA report, but at $10,000 per annum for the GTA report only, it's only really available to individual traders with large accounts or institutional investors. So one of my aims with this site is to make it possible for retail traders and investors to get as much of that information as possible in one place, as other than the proprietary surveys, everything else from the book is possible to get hold of from the web. And so by bringing it all together on here, it makes it much easier to learn and follow the method accurately. RE: Stan Weinstein's Stage Analysis - isatrader - 2014-05-13 Stockcharts.com has today introduced a new feature which will make stage analysis considerably easier on a single chart. They've introduced two new symbols called $SECTOR and $INDUSTRY to bring up the sector and the sub sector in the price indicator. This means that we can now create the relative performance indicator for the market, sector and sub sector on the same chart if we want to, without having to manually input the details ourselves. And hence will be a great time saver. Attached is the normal weekly chart I use with the additional sector relative performance indicators added, so that you can see the settings needed to create them on stockcharts. To create the relative performance line for the major sector you need to put the SYMBOL:$SECTOR - for example AAPL:$SECTOR To create the relative performance line for the sub sector you need to put the SYMBOL:$INDUSTRY - for example AAPL:$INDUSTRY And settings can be saved as an individual chart style or as the weekly chart in the excellent Gallery view using a chart style called GalleryWeekly I don't think you necessarily need all three relative performance indicators, as the relative performance versus the market and the relative performance versus the sub sector are the most important, and will make it less cluttered. See attached. RE: Stan Weinstein's Stage Analysis - isatrader - 2014-05-15 Russell 2000 small caps ($RUT) attempting to complete it's head and shoulders Stage 3 top pattern and breakdown into Stage 4A. Needs to close below the swing low highlighted, and then finish the week below it for confirmation of the Stage change. The Nasdaq Composite ($COMPQ) is not far behind either also in Stage 3 and not far from the breakdown level. RE: Stan Weinstein's Stage Analysis - Tryst - 2014-05-15 Thanks, isatrader. The summation index for the Nasdaq got even worse... http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$NASI&p=D&yr=0&mn=8&dy=0&id=p92508214791&listNum=30&a=205736227 Is there a summation index for the Russell 2000? RE: Stan Weinstein's Stage Analysis - isatrader - 2014-05-15 (2014-05-15, 10:35 PM)Tryst Wrote: Is there a summation index for the Russell 2000? No, the Summation Index is only available for the Nasdaq and the NYSE, which the majority of the Russell 2000 stocks will be part of.
